September 11, 2014

Reviews recent federal, national, regional, and local efforts to nurture community college partnerships with employers.

The Heldrich Center reviewed some of the recent federal, national, regional, and local efforts to nurture dedicated and deliberate community college partnerships with employers. The study included an in-depth analysis of whether people with disabilities have been included in ongoing community college-employer (CCE) partnership efforts across the nation, including those supported through federal grant making, and whether these partnerships have been incorporated into current disability employment initiatives. The center undertook a literature review and conducted interviews with stakeholders involved in CCE partnerships. The report offered several recommendations on how to expand opportunities for people with disabilities in CCE partnerships.
