Regional Collaboratives, Research Projects, and Data Sharing: What it Takes to Create Lasting Infrastructure Across States

March 2, 2023

Presentation about the Multi-state Postsecondary Report.

Many states have partnered with national institutions or formed regional “collaboratives” to make it easier to share data across state lines and establish a governance structure for projects driven by questions from participating states. This presentation focused on the importance and process of creating common data models, shared metric definitions, and infrastructures that allow for secure sharing and use of data between state agencies and across state lines. The presentation examined the Multi-state Postsecondary Report. It provided background on the report, how it has evolved, and where it is headed. The presentation also explored the benefits of interstate collaboration.
