Project

Research and Strategy Support for NJDOL and NJBPU’s Business Industry Leadership Team

June 2026

The Heldrich Center is continuing to serve as a research, evaluation, and strategic thought partner to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) in support of workforce development efforts related to energy efficiency, building decarbonization, and broader market transformation initiatives.

Building on prior work supporting the Business and Industry Leadership Team model, the Heldrich Center is providing research, documentation, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement support to advance NJBPU’s workforce development goals. This expanded scope extends beyond convening and engagement activities to include workforce infrastructure analysis, environmental scanning, development of workforce tools and frameworks, and ongoing assessment of workforce needs and opportunities.

Through these activities, the Heldrich Center is supporting NJBPU’s efforts to strengthen and diversify New Jersey’s clean-energy workforce by fostering coordinated partnerships, facilitating shared learning, and promoting data-informed decision-making. The work will help align workforce development strategies with the goals of Energy Efficiency Triennium Three and broader market transformation initiatives, while continuing to leverage the Business and Industry Leadership Team model as a mechanism for industry engagement, stakeholder coordination, and workforce strategy development.
