The Heldrich Center and the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta and Kansas City are collaborating on a new project that features a national conference and an edited book.
National Conference. Transforming U.S. Workforce Development Policies for the 21st Century, sponsored by the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta and Kansas City and the Heldrich Center, was held October 15-17, 2014.
From 2006 to 2007, the Heldrich Center conducted research on the workforce needs of New Jersey’s pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, in a project for the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) and their member companies. HINJ conducted a web-based survey of 15 pharmaceutical and medical device companies that employ a total of 38,000 people in the State of New Jersey. The survey requested information on employment by functional area, occupational title, educational level, and degree.
The Heldrich Center is evaluating Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) implementation of workforce development programs under a Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. The Center is tracking the progress of students who participate in these programs, conducting an analysis of the program processes, and calculating employment outcomes for students.
