A new statewide survey by the Heldrich Center concludes that finding qualified workers and maintaining the quality of the current workforce are the top two challenges facing New Jersey businesses. In fact, workforce quality has emerged as a business issue more urgent than health care costs, regulations, taxes, and energy expenses. The survey of 300 employers, conducted in late September 2005 with support from New Jersey Resources Corporation, featured interviews with a cross-section of large and small New Jersey companies.
