The Heldrich Center and a consortium of nationally recognized agencies have been awarded a two-year, $2.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). The project, awarded as part of a national competition, will establish a nationwide center aimed at increasing the employment and economic self-sufficiency of adults with disabilities. The center will build leadership and strategic partnerships across workforce development, economic development, and relevant partner agencies and systems.
The consortium, led by the Heldrich Center’s Executive Director Kathy Krepcio, will conduct research, develop and disseminate information, and provide technical assistance and training in five targeted, critical leadership areas. In addition to the Heldrich Center, consortium members include the Program for Disability Research at the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations; the American Public Human Services Administration, Center for Workers with Disabilities, Washington, D.C.; the National Leadership Consortium for Developmental Disabilities at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE; the Elizabeth M. Boggs Center for Developmental Disabilities at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in New Brunswick, NJ; and the Community Solutions Group LLC in Arlington, VA.
